The Macbook marketing muddle

In the Apple Store the other day a funky guy from Tokyo was telling me how bizarre the Macbook line up is.
Here’s a few things that came across as odd:- The $1000 dearer 15” pro has a worse screen than the 13”?
- The only difference between the 2GHz white and black macbook is an extra 20GB of space, but the black is $300 dearer (isn’t storage cheap these days)?
- In upgrading from my 1Ghz iBook to a 13” macbook I lose the video card? (though the pros still have them)
And for those waiting for other models to be released, I think this is pretty much it. Note: “Meet the family. Now complete.”
Regardless, I’ve still got my eyes set on a black 12” macbook with 2GB of RAM (they say it’s handy for running PS under Rosetta) and 120GB of space (RAW photos are a space sucker!).
It’ll be interesting to see the performance of Adobe Lightroom (though I’d say the video card on the pro models would make it a tonne faster).

I just went and checked out the black model over lunch, and I’m not that impressed by the finish. If I were to get a macbook I’d prolly go for the white, but at the moment I’m leaning towards a Pro for the higher resolution screen and video card.
