The Cloud Room @ Spectrum and where’s our Time Out?

The Cloud Room

The Cloud Room

Went to see The Cloud Room at Spectrum last night and they were good, but I can’t say their live performance improved upon their album. The singer (“J.”) and the keyboardist rocked, but were often drowned by the banging drums and guitarists and most of their tracks ended up sounding pretty much the same as one another.

Funnily enough they also played at SXSW, but obviously at the music part whereas we went to interactive.

I’d be keen to see them again when they’ve a few more unique tracks up their sleeve—there’s only so far they can go on Hey Now Now and Hunger.

The FBI After Party came straight after but didn’t seem to have anybody manning the decks… kinda strange. Maybe we just left too early.

Time Out Magazine

So what’s the deal with there being no Time Out magazine in Sydney? While I was in San Franscisco, New York and London it was basically the bible for night life, but here you’d have to go around collecting Drum, 3DWorld and an assortment of other street mags to get the same amount of information.

Meanwhile I wish they would have the free street mags here!

Since leaving uni I don’t know any distribution points for the free street mags anyways…

I’d pay my 2 quid (or whatever it is) for a Time Out every week fo shizzle!
